Hey Daily Readers!
Quick check in, I know there’s a lot going on in the world and I just have to ask, how are you all doing?

Over the past couple of days I’ve felt a bottle of emotions, but today I felt a shift inside. I felt an overwhelming amount of hope.
If by now you have no clue what I am talking about, then I’ll sum it up for you, however please go and update yourself on current events happening in America on whichever platform you receive news.

A week ago we loss another African American father, brother, son , cousin, & friend, to police brutality…yet again. As an African American woman I am sick of hearing and reading about this same story. It’s starting to feel like someone keeps pressing the rewind button on a played out movie! And like so many others I am demanding a plot twist. I refuse to see the same ending this time.
Well, yesterday social media took a turn. Two #BlackQueens, Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang asked for the music industry to utilize their platforms to reflect on the death of George Floyd by posting a black square with the attached hashtag ‘blackouttuesday’. And social media showed up and showed out. Everyone across the board flooded their timelines with black squares, information/resources, & positivity.

Whether some posted genuinely or not isn’t my concern (let time do what it do) because for an entire day Black; Stories, Businesses, Resources, Information was highlighted! Hence why I’m feeling hopeful today.

I firmly believe that awareness brings resources & yesterday there was a surplus of information given. After yesterday I’m no longer accepting excuses on why the African American community lacks support. There’s plenty of ways to support! After witnessing all of that solidarity I am no longer repeating the “narrative” that claims we can’t come together.
Instead I’m praying & speaking into the atmosphere & decreeing change is here and we are coming together!
I’m currently researching ways this platform can cater to the African American community, I urge you to find a way to support! No support is too small, GET IN ON THIS!!!
Here’s a few resources on how you can start!
