MAMMOGRAMS, MILESTONES,& MIRACLES

What is it about the word ‘mammogram’ that makes you jump like you heard a deathly scream?

Well, that’s exactly how I felt when my doctor set my appointment for a screening. When I tell you it’s important to listen to your body! Our bodies will always inform us when something isn’t quite right inside. For a while now my eczema has been out of control. And due to COVID-19 I wasn’t able to depend on my physician, however, I found some holistic alternatives.

  1. Turmeric Root– Helps with dark spots & inflammation
  2. Lemon– Natural skin lightener
  3. Honey-Moisturizer
  4. Hemp Oil-Helps with inflammation

And my latest great find Olive Leaf Extract.  In my latest blog “Something for Your Skin”,  I used the liquid version of Olive Leaf Extract that worked amazingly well, but the taste was hard to swallow! Lucky for me, I found an Olive Leaf Extract capsule that offers a blend of  all the goodies your body needs! Like,  Elderberry, Vitamin C, & Zinc!

Since summer is almost here, I will be monitoring my progress to see if my skin reacts differently to the capsule versus the liquid extract. After a month of using Olive Leaf I saw an instant change, but as soon as I was done with the supply my skin became irritated with everything, it was time for me to visit my physician.  Since I’ve had eczema for years I’m used to certain areas being affected,  but one area didn’t sit well with me and that was my breast. As a woman, we are always informed to take care of ourselves because we are prone to certain diseases, i.e ..Breast Cancer. because of the severity of Breast Cancer in the female community doctors encourage women to be aware of the symptoms. A year ago I learned that irritation to the areola is a symptom.

Can you say F E A R !

I tried to ignore the irritation or write it off as nothing, but after my latest break out, I knew I had to inform my doctor. And she said the scary words that I was trying so hard to avoid ‘mammogram’.  I’ve been waiting for my appointment and assessing my feelings, although I’m considerably younger than the average age for mammograms, I’ve witnessed girls younger than I pass away because of Breast Cancer. But as I prepare for whatever results come, I’m reminded of the scripture “whose report shall you believe. I shall believe the report of the Lord” & “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

There aren’t any cheat codes that tell you how to deal with the admittedly scary possibilities we face as women, but in the middle of the scariness, symptoms, and every GOOGLE search…I know a God that can heal! No matter the circumstance I shall believe His report. I’m going to my appointment speaking authority over fear and praising God because I don’t have to fear because He is with me! It’s important to take care of your body ladies,& please take heed to what your body is saying & KNOW, no matter the symptoms you’re facing if you have it, God can heal it! Speak authority over your body, because by His stripes we are healed!

**UPDATE**

I am all clear! After my screening, the doctor didn’t see anything abnormal, can you say NO MAMMOGRAM! 🙌🏼#THANKGOD! I’m back on the journey to healing my skin completely , see y’all next blog!
